Buscalan Village

Buscalan Village, Kalinga, Philippines

Always have a passion for art and body art. In January 2020, I went for a 16-hour trek and hiked to the top of the mountain to meet Whang Od; the last and oldest known living ‘mambabatok’ tattooist of the Butbut tribe in the Philippines. She was looking fresh and strong at the age of 102. This trip has been on my wish list since I was 15.

I had the chance to stay in the village with the tribe. It was a great experience meeting lovely groups of people and surrounded by nature.
